I've got a complete package that I took out of a 28' BatBoat that you may want to consider. It's an injected 502ci/530hp Flagship engine (Chevrolet/JE/ASM/Crane/IMCO/etc.) with a 1.59:1 Volvo Penta DPX drive, transom assembly, and even a complete spare drive. As near as I can tell, the whole thing has roughly 140 hours on it and ran like a top the last time I used it. Pushed my boat to 86 mph.

The DPX will give you the stability that Zero Cavity spoke about, but with a much stronger and more hydrodynamic drive that includes integral hydraulic steering. I can also put you in touch with people who were on board the last time I ran the package.
