How much is a Hammond Challenger 24' worth?
A fellow on my lake has a 1990 Hammond Challenger 24' for sale. From a distance it looks pretty trick. It is painted black, red and silver with a windshield. It has a 350hp engine and a bravo and it is on a trailer. He wants $13K for it. I think it needs some work.
Is this a good deal? I can't find any info on Google about this model. I don't know a thing about this boat except the George Linder designed the 21' Challenger. I assume that this is a stretch version of George's design. If it is, then I would hope that the boat would perform great in the rough stuff. The owner says it runs 65mph every day of the week. Can anybody post a Powerboat Mag Test on this boat (it is an oldie). I remember seeing a test on this many years ago.

Re: How much is a Hammond Challenger 24' worth?
Sorry, there is no such thing as a 24' Hammond Challenger. Only a 21', from George's original bottom, legally licsenced by Bob Hammond, and built from 1979 til 1982. A few 1983's were built by Renken and then Stryker, but were not considered to be real Hammonds.A 1990 would be a Stryker, from Huntville,Al,the 24 was a copy of something else, not a Linder design at all.

Stryker's build quality was spotty. A few good ones out there, some bad ones out there. Mid 80's boats used sheet rock screws in the hull/deck joint, would rust out in a year. We had 2 1987's split at the keel and sink. By late 80's they got the problems sorted out and built some pretty good boats, scary fast with 502's,and the legendary Linder 21 handling. Look the boat over carefully, could be a gem or a dog.A real Hammond 2150 is hard to find, but a real gem.
