I for one have enjoyed immensely, reading the various works written on this subject and would enjoy reading yours Robingo. In no way shape or form is this to say or intend to put any of these people on a pedistal and hold them out to be model citizens. It is simply as I stated earlier, a human interest story that runs deeper for us (at least myself) due to our love of the sport.

Shane - If you look back in the beginning of the post when I first objected to the post, it wasn't HISTORY I had an issue with. It was the TITLE of the post. God forbid if your relative or friend were murdered, would you appreciate a "Free the guy for thanksgiving" post? Debating what happened is fine, although as some have alluded, there are guys who posted they were at 188th, at the prison break attempt, at the grassy knoll in Dallas, and at the crucifiction.... If there is any amusement in this, it is so many people saying they were friends with both. If that comes from Brownie, Craig Barrie, or Ralph Martin, fine they knew both well. If people profess to know all of this compelling information, then write the book.

Hey Indio, that would have been Bob Saccenti who married C and me.It was on one of Juan Carlos' Titania 88.I remember he forgot the stamp, and we had to go back to shore and get it. I was close friends with Mark McManus back then. "Shnouzer" was there, and Tim.
About the "Save the Outdrives", everybody was talking about "save the manetees...the whales... the earth". It was a joke on that, but I got a little carried away, and graphic with the drawing of a chopped up manetee.

Augie, just got off the phone with Ben. He confirms what you have said. He sends you his Love!

It amazes me that Ben Kramer even gets this much attention. He was a 2bit hood who made money running drugs when it was easy. There are allot of people who got away with it back then. He idolized the Don and wanted to be like him. The problem was Don was a self made millionaire who was smart and took calculated risks. He was a promoter and showman. Sort of like Donald Trump on smaller scale. Ben was a schmuck who ran reefer and tried to buy his way into the "show" well it takes more than cash to be successful and Ben hated that he could never be Don. He killed him out of jealousy the money if there was a side deal was nothing he was just a little coward who hired a hit-man and wanted t get rid of the competition. Tell me what were the names of the Boat companies Ben started up again? And how big was his trophy case.
