That was Randy's teammate Mohamid and his brother in the Class 2 worlds. Mohamid did not survive. His brother got out without a scratch.

Mohamid was on the cell phone (Yelling into the phone)
with his wife during the race and they hit that tanker wave. He was leading in the final stretch.

This was before they put the lids on, made safety capsules, excape hatches and shock seats.

He was a fearless offshore racer.

The guys in the red boat were OK - just a bit bruised. The irony was they'd done structural damage to the boat in the previous race - the builder had told them it was beyond economic repair and that they should ditch it - they patched it back together and very next race they folded it in 2.
