car hauler nightmare
My tow vehicle is missing!!! This car transport co, ironically called "we care auto", here's what has happened next:
11/14 My Jeep is picked up in California 11/17 The office calls me to advise car will be delivered the next morning. 11/18 I call, they tell me truck had 2 flat tires! 11/19 I call, they tell me the drivers have quit and truck is in North Carolina. 11/20 I call, they tell me the truck is in Virginia and has a dead battery. 11/21 I call, truck is in So Carolina but has hydraulic problem! 11/22 I call, they say car will be delivered 11/23 for sure! 11/23 I call, truck is in Jacksonville now. 11/24 No one calls (I know it's Thanksgiving) 11/25 I call, truck is almost in Florida, will deliver car by saturday morning. Here it is saturday morning, I still have no car and I am so pi---d off with this co! My first mistake was to use a broker and not deal with a trucking co directly. This broker presented themselves as the actual transporter, I am too stupid to have figured this out. What are my options??? We (don't) Care Auto, is at 2165 Skibo Rd, Fayetteville, N.C. Is anyone near this area? |

Re: car hauler nightmare
Can anyone tell me what it would cost to get a Porsche 928 S4 shipped from California to Dallas? I've got one quote that about made me piss myself and I sure don't want to deal with what he's gone through.

Re: car hauler nightmare
It should run you around a dollar per mile.
|
Re: car hauler nightmare
california to dallas on an open carrier should run anywhere from 650 to 800 dollars, that is on an open carrier, if the porsche is not a concourse car than ship open and just wash it and save some money

Re: car hauler nightmare
Cost me a dime to get from Phoenix to Wichita enclosed on Reliable.

Re: car hauler nightmare
Call Reliable Carriers. There is not a more stand up individual than Tom.

Re: car hauler nightmare
This is one of the two busiest times of year for carriers. Cars going from north to south tie up a lot of equipment.
Delbert in NC? That is some funny chit. |
Re: car hauler nightmare
Reliable Carriers will haul anyone's AUTO. Although the majority of our business is with the Auto Companies we will haul auto's for private Individules. We have hauled several auto for members of OSO.
We have office's in Canton, MI. Orlando, Fl. Chandler AZ, and in the LA area. |
Re: car hauler nightmare
Yes I agree but most of your open carriers are doing ride and drives for the majors
|
Re: car hauler nightmare
Georges, I'm an easy 70 miles south of Fayettville. I'd be happy to take a ride up there for you.
Email me if I can help or call me in the office on Monday. Fred 866 921 4553 [email protected] |
Re: car hauler nightmare
We ship the majority of all out customer's cars on our enclosed carriers. Our enclosed fleet is larger than our open fleet. If a person specifies and pays the addditional charge for the eclosed trailer his auto will not go on an oper carrier. If a person is quoted a price for a open carrier and their car comes to them on a closed trailer there is no addditional charge.

Re: car hauler nightmare
Thanks all,
I just got a call from the truck driver, saying he is southbound just past Melbourne FL. I take this as a good sign that I may have my car sometime "soon"! Fred, as always, thanks for your offer to help out, you are the best friend that I have never met. Delbert, you go on back to the barn 'cause your little sister is in there keeping the hay warm and waitin' for you! Jeff, thanks for your help this morning. |
Re: car hauler nightmare
Georges, I was just tring to make you feel alittle better, I would have been as pissed as you. What happens alot of time is the truck that picks the cars up won't be the same one that delivers them. They will pick them up and take them to a holding yard until they have a full load going to the same area. Then the dispatcher justs gives you the run around. Let us know how it all works out. JB

Re: car hauler nightmare
JB,
I was just funnin' you back! :D I did appreciate your sense of humor. :drink: |
Re: car hauler nightmare
The car finally arrived and in good shape! The owner of the company hauled it down here, so I questioned him and found out the car sat in their yard for over a week, along with 3 other Florida bound vehicles, until yesterday morning when they left No Carolina.
So the dispatcher had been lying to me everyday (the owner probably told her to). I am still filing a complaint with the BBB and the broker. |
Re: car hauler nightmare
BBB is a private organization and has no power. complain to the broker and if he tells you to pound salt, call www.Centraldispatch.com and complain to them that the broker is lying about his work
|
Re: car hauler nightmare
Will do, thanks Jeff.
