Re: Hull protection when traveling?
I use the big mudflap set up like posted up above. I was tired of the chips in the front of my boat and trailer.

The Ex was a friends. Didn't have a truck this spring. Traded mine off in Feb for a Jeep. Jeep didn't work out, so it had to go to make room for my new truck.
Ramblin on about nothing, but figured better than just posting a smily for more post #'s.

I've got 'em built into the trailer. One of the only setups I've seen like it. Got an aluminum frame (like bow rail material) with a mesh screen that wraps around it and fastens to the frame of the trailer. No road chips on it at all, and that's quite a feat as I'm running BFG Muds and they love throwing rocks up.

I was told that you need to make sure it does not contact the ground, flips up rocks. I made mine from a truck flap bought from a farm supply place. Not as pretty, but only have $15 in it. Same concept. Leave it attached to my reciever, so it is always there when I slide 'er in.
