Default Eagle engines?

I just got the verbal highlights of a pre-purchase survey on a 2000 Baja 272 Performance trade-in that I have under contract. Does anyone know anything about Eagle marine engines? The survey found that the 2000 272 Performance that I am considering does not have the original MercCruiser 502 Magnum engine , but has an Eagle replacement block. Also, one exhaust manifold is running at about 160 degrees and the other at lake water temp. I'm curious what's up with that. Survey's are a wonderful thing to have done before you jump.

Any info, or advice, on either Eagle engines or the manifold temp difference would be greatly appreciated. I visited the Eagle engine web site and they do sell marine engines but offer very little informatiion.

Thanks,

Dave

Default Re: Eagle engines?

Never heard of Eagle engines in these parts, but the difference in manifold temperature is common in raw-water cooled engines. The water flow is taking the easiest path due to clogging in the thermostat housing or riser.

Being a marine surveyor I heartily agree with your statement.

Good luck with your purchase!
