Does anyone know what happened to this website? They had a huge collection of old school race videos. But they never answered the phone or replied to emails.

I believe that Rich Lurhs was a part of it?

i ordered the apache dvd 5 months ago, got a confirmation email and still no dvd...

good news is...my cc wasnt charged by big-seas

I also ordered both their videos... although I recieved them both and they were awesome... my mothernlaw.. who bought me the apache on for christmas is still asking whether I have recieved the free on that was supposed to be a part of the apache video deal....

They screwed me over. I ordered a Legend of Apache DVD. Paid around $60/70 bucks for it shipped. I remember them taking the money out of the account. Got the DVD a couple days later and I was happy.

4 months later, I was charged again by Big Seas. Went back through my history and couldn't find their name. I had my bank do a check and they found nothing either.

But I remember them taking the money out of my account before I recieved the DVD. I just can't prove it. Who the hell would charge a card 4 months after the product was shipped anyways.

I now own a $140 Apache DVD, approx. 40minutes long. Anyone wanna buy it? :D

Here is a portion of an e-mail that I pulled out of my e-mail archives:

"4) Customer Survey - 99% of all of our customers that responded LOVED the Apache and Cat Conquer DVD's! There was a consensus that the Apache DVD was a little pricey. So with that said, we are going to ship everyone who purchased our Apache DVD, our next DVD ABSOLUTELY FREE! (this will be ready to ship early Jan 05)"

I purchased the "pricey" version of the Apache DVD, I am still waiting on the next DVD - - - it is only approaching Jan 06. What is the latest news on Big-Seas? If they went under, that is fine. But as long term active members of the forum, and after pumping up the product, they should let us know what is going on.

I heard the DVD had steps and is too unstable to ship to the general public. But, word is that they have a great Betamax tape from 1982 that outperforms any current technology by 653%. :evilb:

Sharkey sent me an e-mail about a post questioning the status of Big Seas.

I'll be brief

1. Dave and I are still in partnership, but both of us have very full plates at the moment......

2. We have decided that we need a bigger library of completed DVD's before re starting any serious marketing efforts.......... some are complete, others are in progress.

3. Last year's pre Christmas orders were shipped in November and December..............
Unfortunately, due to our usual tardiness....NO CREDIT CARDS WERE BILLED UNTIL FEBRUARY...... We have no records of any charges made prior to that.
Receiving a charge so long after a purchase led some people to conclude that they were double billed. However when they contacted us none of the claimants could produce prior billing records...... although I believe credit card companies will provide such records.

4. Should anyone have a legitimate claim their money will be cheerfully refunded.............my e-mail is available through my avatar....and I will respond quickly.

I hope this clears up any misconceptions.

It was nothing more than that I knew the site was down and I remember being told that they were going to revamp the site to offer more stuff and that he could reach DaveP through the NJPPC.com website.

I only PMd chewiekw because I first saw the post in the Racer's Section in which I wasn't going to respond to due to a few complaints from some Racer's about me posting in that section and not being an active Racer. :rolleyes:

Just so you know, it wasn't anything I was trying to hide from anyone because I Private Messaged him.

As T2X stated, I emailed both him and DaveP in regards to this thread and it was only a matter of time someone would respond. Dave may still be away on business, but I am glad to see T2X was able to come in inform all of you what was happening.
The reputation of these 2 men are certainly not of being thieves...
Perhaps we can hear more from those that did receive the DVDs and give us some input what you liked about it.
I think we can turn this thread around!!! :drink:

I purchased both DVD's and the footage is excellent. They even got it to me by my birthday.... Hopefully they will come out with many more.. I'll be the first on the list for the new ones also

Excellent old school racing with added commentary was really a treat. Thanks!

To my knowledge all outstanding issues have been rectified and all entitled people have received their "missing" DVD's
