Formula 312 current/former owners

Posted in the Formula forum, but I'm impatient...

Who has/had a 312. The trailer I have for the boat has a 10 x 3.5 beam that runs 14 ft long. It is notched for the 1.5 single step, but the forward section of the hull sits on a chine. I have since recieved the bottom diagrams from Formula and it seems the only location for a 1 piece bunk is near the outer edges of the hull. (outside of all the chines) This sets the keel too low inside the trailer and it may hit the cross members. Anyone else have 1 piece bunks, or did you have a 2 piece system with the forward section closer to the center line of the hull. (I am considering cutting my bunks and placing them into 2 positions for better support)

My buddy here at work just had one made from Manning. Boat fits great. It is currently at the dealer but should be home for the weekend. I will see if we can get some pics for you.

Re: Formula 312 current/former owners

I had a 312 a few years back. I had the same problem. Being the strakes do not line up the same in front, and behind the step, it is dificult to to get the bunk to be in thright place. I ended up adjusting mine to split the difference between the for and aft strakes. It took allot of adjusting. but i finally got it where it would work the best. I still had to be careful when i pulled out of the water. At times it would catch on one of the strakes, and not completely center. I would have to back the trailer back in the water.. I believe the 312 is the only one of the fastechs, that has this problem.
