Hi..new KID on the block need help ! ! X dimension

Hi guys ... i would like to know how to calculate the X dimension myself or if its posible i would like to ask someone out there if they are ready to help me out with my query i got a 30 footer deep vee offshore with 22 degrees deadrise and with a maximum beam of 8 feet ... i will install a 525 mercruiser with a bravo 1 or more likely an XR drive ... ! ! ! ! but do not know the hieght of the propshaft what it should be from the keel. the hull has no notched transom and it has a constant of 240..... for a lot of u out there its a simple question but not for me ..thanks ! ! ! actually i was wondering to build the next boat with a notched transom this time... again with a single mercruiser 525 and XR drive.... knowing that a notched transom helps to raise the drive s height....but have no clue what should b the height nor the length of the notched transom to work properly.............. ! ! ! any ideas ???????????

Hi audacity nice to have your support ! ! ! Well i havent yet bought the drive but i got the engine a 525 and my intensions are to install an an XR drive ....to compliment .....with a ratio of 1.5 ! ! ! of course i got the boat i build them infact the 30 footer i m building is derived from a cigarette thats for sure ..well like all the serious powerboats to hit offshore seas like your donzi 38......it all begun from the king of offshore racing Don Aronow the difference is that my 30 footer has got a 22 degrees deadrise instaed of the 24 degrees a cafe racer 30 has ... but this is a new project i m working on so its the first of this type for me ,,, the boat wet fully rigged will weigh 5400 Lbs including engine and drive .havent decided for a prop yet but any suggestions from a profesional as u are is an asset for sure,, P.S; i had a look at your racing site .... all my compliments guys keep it up ! ! !as u r doing not just a good job but a splendid one for sure ..and what u have done as rookies is impressive ... :D

Most are mounted with the propshaft 3-5" below the bottom of the boat. I would set it up at 4" below and use a spacer to go down if you have to. A 30' single engine boat will need the prop deeper than a smaller single engine boat to give enough leverage to lift the bow.

you said 'a' 525, does this mean 1 engine? two?

4" w/a sportmaster will kill it w/twins and still not be that hot for a single xr lower. what lower?

what is your setback(its/extension)?

props and GR will be a major factor in your x.

there are MANY variables to selecting an X....feel free to call me to discuss.

ps...thanks for your support! REALLY nice to hear and see you took a look at the site. did you see us get crushed in the super v? or the wheel come off the super cat? funny $hit!

pss....we also have a TON of parts!

I'm assuming a single from his description of "a 525" and "a bravo XR"
