looks like you need a ticket to ride in those style boats....

could fountain try any harder to be OL with that paint job? :D
|
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
I love it on that boat. I hate it on the smaller baja's and other companies that have used that configuration. You gotta have a big boat for it to look right, and that boat is perfect.

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
it could be the same painter? does OL have a patent on that style of painting? i dont think there is any reason to knock Fountain because of it. that dealer ordered it that way... (i assume)

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
NO WONDER!!! Toad painted that one and their OL's. They are a dealer for both.... So, that actually looks like Toad's style of paint, not OL's...
|
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
I like the paint...I don't like the seats. They look especially horrible on that new Baja in the Powerboat mag ad.
|
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
i agree, the seats look better in the fountain, but who actually wants to the guy in the middle? dont know about any of you all, but i would feel like a complete dork...
|
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
Anything above 100mph and I would gladly take a bolster over a bench seat. It just feels more secure. And this style seems to be the safest way to get 6 people on a 100mph+ ride.

and it looks like you are riding around in the short bus with that seating arrangement... :D |
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
I think it is Toad's call whether or not to do a certain job because his integrity and business future is on the line everytime he delivers his work. I can see it now, 6 guys all together, riding in perfect sequence, and all show back up with a huge smile on their face! not a group I want to be a part of! And, I doubt I am the only one!
|
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
Seating kinda works for me on that big of a ride !??!?!?!?! Much better then the "prom date" seating thats popular these days IMO .
As far as the paint goes .... the dealer's usually spec out the paint if they ordered the boat ... Hey a 47 Fountain with 1075 and #6 is pretty cool any way you slice it ! |

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
not to be a homophobe, but those "rollercoaster" and "prom date" ideas are TERRIBLE. anyone like to chime in that owns one or spent some time on either of the set ups and like it that way? I'm serioulsy wondering about these strange configurations...

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
I like the way the Donzi 38ZR is configured. 3 Man Bolster in the back, and two seperate seats in the front. If you want to take 6 people with you just strap one onto the nose and say "hey, you wanted to come, this was the only seat available" :D :D
|
Re: Roller-Coaster seats
The "rollercoaster" seats at least don't make ya sit right next to your buddy on a long romp offshore .... Not that there's anything wrong with that .... :D

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
I dont need to go on any boat trip or ride bad enough to be uncomfortable in any sense. I'm just trying to make sure that the market doesnt become overwhelmed by this "idea." One day these boats will come down in price, I will want to be a buyer, and will not ever own something that doesnt make sense to me.
As for the Fountain comment: there may be a joke on this board as I have read, but is there a better buy for the money, really? -we dont need any popcorn jokes b/c of that- |

Re: Roller-Coaster seats

-btw, im not a ford guy... |

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
boats and cars are no comparison. boats use mostly the same engines and outdrives. fountain powerboats is a publicly traded company. is there another powerboat company that can make enough and sell enough to be one? i dont know. a mustang probably doesnt hold the world speed record either or win the most races. (although i guess its possible since i didnt check the records) this thread started so that the oso community could share their thoughts and feelings on the new seating arrangements, mostly the "roller-coaster" style. in all seriousness.

Bad azz boat but I do not like the seats. Put a three man bolster in the back and a fricken stripper pole in the middle, then you have something! :D |

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
Are those stand up bolsters? Or sit down?

have enough been made for anyone to own one on the board here?

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
so, no one has one yet.?. to each his own, i guess; on this one.

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
That's not exactly a new idea...Baja was doing that in the early/mid 90's in the 32 Outlaw, and was a fairly popular option. It's kinda nice to let the seat keep you in place X 6, rather than depending on your knees, feet and arms, while sitting on a bench X 3 @ 100+ mph. I think the only embarrasment would be to have that seating in a boat that would only run 70 mph!

Re: Roller-Coaster seats
That paint doesnt just look like OL, the cigarette in the Pier 57 ad looks the same. They are ALL starting to look the same.
