All I Want For Christmas Is...

The Perfect Boat! :D

OK... Here's the deal... As many of you know, I sold my 22-foot bowrider, and I plan to get another (bigger) boat in the Spring. Someone told me that a boat can be BIG, FAST, CHEAP (Pick TWO! :p ). With that in mind, I want BIG (30 feet or more, but under 10,000 pounds so that I can trailer it) and CHEAP (under $50K). If I want fast, I will go to Full Throttle Marine and drop some green there.

I primarily boat on Lake Travis. I need a "wave crusher" to get from the ramp to the party cove (Devil's Cove). I need a large FLAT sundeck so that the Claymates can lay out and get some "all over" sun. I would like a twin-engine boat with Bravo drives (TRS drives worry me), so I am looking at 1990 and later.

I am six-feet tall, so I would like a large cabin. I would also like an enclosed head for the ladies. I will overnight a few times a year, so it would be nice to be able to have (or add) Air Conditioning and Shore power. A swim platform is a must, but I guess it could be added later.

While I like the "old school" look, I love a white dash. A dark dash in Texas is a bad idea. In fact, any color on "horizontal" surfaces gets very hot!

Did I forget anything? Please let me know anything else I might want. Also, let me know of a particular model (i.e. Cigarette Bullet, Formula F-311, Sonic 31ss, etc.) that would work for me.

Thanks and Merry Christmas, y'all! :drink:

Year: 1990 or later

Here is a Cheap 31SS. For the price you can put a trailer under it, and redo the dash in your price range.

The boats you listed sound like they fit, except for the 50K part.

Yeah, but how in the world would I tow it. The answer, I wouldn't. And, I can't afford a wet slip (right now). I need to keep the boat (and trailer) under 10,000 pounds.

Keep 'em coming! :D

Here how about this. You would have to send the dash
pannels out to be powder coated and a new steering
wheel but other then that it sounds nice.

Re: All I Want For Christmas Is...

Clay after reading some of your post ,I don't know what kind of FOOD your talking about but it's hard to beat a 31 Sonic. Big cabin and lots of extras. That coming from a Scarab guy. There are some good deals on 33 Scarabs, but if your into big cabins Sonic might be a choice.

glassdave 12-09-2005 04:35 PM

Re: All I Want For Christmas Is...

heres another decent sonic deal and it a 35. its really tough to beat these things for cabin layout and room for "entertaining " :D . i have been watching this one for a while and thought about looking into it but ended up with a better deal on a 38 scarab. i have seen it listed in other places with "motivated seller" in the ad. 35 sonic

If......you happen to get audited.....you get a Coleman propane powered mini-stove and keep it in the galley.

....and yes, a Bullet does have a galley!! :eureka: :eureka: ;) :drink:

I thought you were talking more towards desert. 6ft. you can almost stand in a Sonic plus a pull out bed. :D I think it's around 7400lbs. Everything else your going to have duck pretty good to get in to. Any bigger boat and towing becomes an issue.

Check out the formula section a couple there would fit the bill, or look for a board member Powerguy has a beautiful 336 on a trailer fresh water and well maintained just my .02.

Re: All I Want For Christmas Is...

If one of the heighest priorities is height under the deck you may want to look at a Power Quest or a Nordic. They both have decent head room under the cabin. I'm 6'4 so I can relate to finding really decent head room its going to be tough to get in a boat under 35 ft. I have a 29 beak boat and it’s a pain in the neck to go below but heck the only time I need to do that is for beer then I don't mind the sacrifice. Good luck. hope Santa drops off your present if you been a "good boy". :D

dude, it will take you 2 minutes to Devil's Cove from the ramp.....why do you want so much boat?????get something with a party deck (deck boat) and have all the Claymates line up on the deck to sunbathe and keep sending us pictures :evilb: :drink:

LOL! I don't need a fast boat. I just want a big boat for a smooth ride and lots of room to sunbathe.
