I have used one on my boat but be very careful or you will burn the gelcoat.

keep the rpms at 3000 and break the glaze off the wheel on concrete before you start.Be very very carfull when the wheel starts to wear down,there is a metal sometimes plastic center that will gouge fiberglass if you let it wear to close.Always keep the wheel moving on the surface,if you let it turn in one spot it will cause damage.Good luck

I didn't read all of the threads but I've done it with a real heat gun and used 3M adhesive remover in conjunction with the heat gun for tuff stuff. it is flamable so use care
