It's about time I say hi...

After only lurking since the days of Traviss and his sheep, I guess I better pay up and say hi to everyone. No disrespect here Traviss, although I don't see you around here much anymore. My name is Jason and I live in southern Illinois (not the ideal place for boating), but I guess it could be alot worse. I do not own a ferrari, outerlimits, nor am I a retired NFL player! Probbibly shouldn't have brought that up again, right stecz! I'm just your typical blue collar, widwestern male trying to make a wonderful life for his wife and two children. My wife and I own a small 20' VIP bowrider 5.0 liter with a whopping 220 h.p., which gets me to about 50 m.p.h. We primarily boat on the Kaskaskia river, Loto, and my favorite lake, Bull Shoals. Before someone says anything, yes I get the chit beat out of me @ Loto. My boat is not much compared to most of your beautiful rides, but it is a starting point for a hobby (addiction) the I see festering for many years to come. In conclusion, thank you everyone for all the years of reading (lurking) that has provided me with tons of boating releated info. Sorry so long, but look forward to conversing w/ all in the future.
Jason

p.s. I'M NOT BS.. WHAT A JACKA$$!

Welcome to the insane asylum. Our family started with a 19 foot bow rider in '79 so there is hope. I lusted after a Scarab for years. We now have a Black Thunder 43 foot. Just be sure your wife is in agreement with any future purchases and never underestimate the extreme cost of these types of boats. Joe Murray

Welcome from another newbie as well. Us new guys gotta stick together!! :D :D This place IS addicting and everyone seems pretty cool and they're very helpful. I watched that whole Snotty thing myself too and felt that intro-ing myself right after he was busted would be weird so I lurked a little more until recently. No big boat for either (working on it) but it really doesn't matter, if it floats and farts, it's all good!
PS: to the rest of you who don't know me yet I have to echo gofst's words; no Ferrari or Nortech or millionare. I am a Concert Sound guy who makes tens of hundreds of dollars every year...drinky winky :drink: :drink: :drink:
PPS: I also like big fake boobies, even if they're both Lefties...

I had a Glasspar, but it was smaller.....8' I think. It had a 7.5 hp Merc on the back. That was my first fiberglass boat.

welcome, come on in, just look out for that JS232 guy, he types in french, and you have to read his posts aloud in a french voice or your eyes will bleed...

Welcome to your new second home. You may even spend more time here than at your first home if you're not careful :)

I think Tantrum and I have the smallest boats in the OSO fleet. 10 ft Cougar Cubs. Ok, we both have slightly bigger cats too but hey, seeing as I will probably never own a Ferrari, a lear jet of a NFL foot ball team, having the "est" anything on OSO is at least something to brag about isn't it?

OSD, JS232 types in french? I thought it was PigLatin or Russian or something :) No wonder I can't read it :)

Well about time you stepped from behind that curtain, and don't be shy about size, my other boat is a 12 footer. Here i am in my mean 5.0 hp that has since been re-powered to a blistering 9.9 monster..... :p

Re: It's about time I say hi...

someday size won't matter... looking to go larger 25' - 32' range. Fell in love w/ the sunsation 288's last year at the St. Louis Boat Show, may have to go closer to the 24'-25' range first. Looking at starting a new business in the spring  Never enough cash flow for the toys I want!!!
