I hope it does increase performance boat sales...but I doubt it. If i get one sale that comes from someone who saw that movie and wants to spend a few hundred thousand I'll let you all know. As far as the new buyers of performance boats I believe they are more aware and more experienced now then they were in the 80's. A lot of these buyers have already owned 50-70mph. cuddy cabins, sporty cruisers and center consoles. There's also more information available to buyers now than ever.As for insurance rates they'll probably increase simply because they can. Also the boats are more expensive. As for insurance claims they'll probably increase also simply because more people are boating. As for the drug runners on South River I know for a fact that's gotten bad...the bad part now is when it snows..it snows Tylenol, aspirin and Viagra. We're getting older.

Did I miss something or was there no white pants and aqua blue sports coats? I think you have to have the correct attire to fulfil the essence of the TV show.

That would be nice, but I doubt it. I think the only people who care about offshore racing are people who own boats, more specifically, performance boats. That's a very small percentage of the population.

All day last saturday, TV Land, miami vice 24 hr marathon. I must admit I watched several episodes. I had totally forgotten that an offshore boat wasn't fast unless it had a radar arch.

Spike up in sales from a movie???
Hard to equate a $10movie ticket w/a $150,000-200,000 purchase of a toy.
And if you gotta have whats in the move... its gonna be more like $500k.

Sorry, I just don't see guys running outta that movie going to the nearest fountain dealer.
It's alot different than when I left the theater after watching "days of thunder," all the guys were out driving like madmen.
