Really??????
Those 850's will burn about 160 gallons per hour at WOT and at cruise speeds probably about half that.

I talked to the guy selling the Scarab a couple weeks ago and asked him if I could have a compression test done on the engines and have the boat surveyed. He wouldn't allow any of those things to be done. I should probably be a little suspicious?

Anybody who won't allow a survey is definitely trying to hide something. If you buy it without a survey, no insurance company will ever touch it until it is surveyed, besides the obvious risk of buying someone elses problems. What he said....no survey / sea trial = no buy. Stand by that. don't worry, he wont sell it to anyone without allowing a survey! (Nobody wise that is.........)

I Am Familiar With The Gulfstream In Question, I Know For A Fact The Motor And The Drive Are New, Less Than 2 Hours I Would Guess On Engine Drive Combo, The Boat Has Been Outside For A Few Years And The Elements Have Taken Their Toll, The Boat Is Structuarly Sound. If You Dont Mind Doing Some Upohlstry Work And Misc. Interior Work It Wouldnt Be A Bad Buy, But Dont Pay 17k....for As Long As The Boat Has Been For Sale I Would Think They Should Take Any Reasonable Offer. - Andrew
