There was thread along time ago where everyone was wondering how you trim those drives up.

Re: whats up with this boat!?
Actually it started with the question about the scoops being on backwards.

hers another with back words scoops |
Re: whats up with this boat!?
I think the theory about the scoops facing aft is this:
The engines make more power on cool, dense air and the warm air rises. The air flow over the scoops scavenge the warm air out. Cooler air comes in from the side intakes and "Voila"! Remember the Cowl Induction Chevelles? There was a high pressure at the base of the windshield. |
Re: whats up with this boat!?
That's a very nice boat but its probably time to go through the motors and transmissions. That would add about $30,000 to the price but 900's and #6's in a 38 has to be fun.

Re: whats up with this boat!?
Ok, as someone who was shopping for and bought a different 38 fever while this one was for sale, I"ll take a stab at it.
First of all when I was searching for a 38 fever I ran across this boat but the rainbow paint totally turned me off. I showed it to friends and it turned them off to. But If you like it then that's not an issue. Secondly, the idea of buying used 900 HP blower motors scares the heck out of most people $$$$$$$$$ - I know it did me. Thirdly, when I called on the boat I "seem" to remember that they were only getting like 96-7 mph out of the boat, which seems to be pretty slow for that much power (this is from memory so don't quote me on this). I know some people are seeing 100+ out of that hull with 750hp and bravo drives. The boat is out of florida, which make one think it's a 6 year old salty dog, which further reduces its value. Also, when they first advertised the boat they were asking close to $200K for it - which in hind-sight was way to much. It might be a great boat and I am not knocking it off hand. I'm just giving you my opinon as to why potential customers like myself looked at it and said, Naw. |

I checked on boattrader and like OSO they don't list the speed in that ad either. If it does do 110 they should have that in big bold lettering in all their ads. |

Scoops are backwards to let the air out...when taking air in from the sides.........you have to expell it quickly to get the best air flow for best cooling results |
