Default Planning vacations?

I'm trying to plan a few vacations.
I'm working on the Miami Boat show - this one isn't too bad.

When is the LOTO shootout??
I'm thinking about running from Cincinnati to the shootout, then run up to S.Dakota to see the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore (never been there). Plan on tent camping for this trip - might even bring my dogs.

Any suggestions??

south dakoto is pretty cool i spent a week there. if you get that far you might want to extend the trip Devils Tower just across the border in Wyoming, its worth the extra drive. for those that dont know devils tower is that funky rock thing that Close ecounters was filmed around.

The LOTO Shootout is the last weekend in August. Its 550 miles from Northern KY to Shooters at LOTO. Its a hard 9 hour drive pulling a boat. But it is well worth it. We were ther last August in the 4 row of boats back and could see all the action. Then we got lucky and was able to get a docking spot at Shooter's to look at all the boats. There are more high performance boats on that lake then any other lake in the country. If you think Riverfest is bad after the fireworks you haven't seen anything yet. We will be going again this year. They are moving it up to the Toad Cove which is by the 6mm soo we can sit by the pool and just cocktail it there.

Well, I won't be pulling a boat
Unless I get lucky in the next few months.
I just want to plan a week to take the missus.
No real time schedule, just a few destinations - we'll get there when we get there - sort of thing.
Everytime we take a vacation, it seems like we have "appointments". I want to do a vacation we can just do what we want whenever we feel like it.
The Devils Tower thing could be cool.
Is there any problem bringing my dog's with me to these places??
It's a family vacation - and they are our family.

Dave - how you coming along on the KAAMA?? - did you sell the CC?

Lotto is right down at the carryout - Apu takes good care of me.

Not being transferred yet - just rumors. I shouldn't even say that, it was just a word in passing - but that's how thing's happen with this Co. " you've got two weeks to move you and all your SH$T" and in the mean time we'll put you up in a Residence Inn - BTW, plan on working 12-14 hrs a day during the move.
Hell, we already did it once.

LOTO wouldn't be that bad of a run - I'm guessing about 6 hrs from MN. But, it sounds like there is plenty of water in MN.

I was back up to Erie for X-mas - Man, I miss that water. I'm thinking that I need to push to have them buy a Lab back in Toledo so we can move back. I actually kinda miss the place.

If your going to south dakota you probably don't want to be there the first two weeks in august, It's the sturgis rally and there are a lot of bikes
