Re: Tilghman Island MD

Unique island on Maryland's eastern shore. It used to be predonimantly a waterman's island (crabbers) inhabited by a few big families and their relatives. Not much going on there except Harrison's which is a restaurant at the bridge, a few other restaurants, and a bed & breakfast at the opposite end. Close knit bunch of people down there and I probably wouldn't want to have a second home there if that's what you're looking for. It's a half hour to amenities which could be a pain at times, however if it's a "get-away" place you want then maybe it fits the bill. There's a ton of much better areas on the eastern shore that I'd feel better about owning a second home on. That area is my home away from home, if you want more info on Tilghman or any other eastern shore town, let me know.

I got engaged on Tilghman Is. during the Choptank River Poker Run a couple years ago. You have to drive through (by land) St. Michaels to get there. St. Mike's has some nice B&Bs and a good town to walk around and window shop.
