The boat market........?
Spoke w/the salesman I have been working with at the LOTO with respect to a Formula 330SS. He has 5 new ones (05MY) in stock and says he will sell them all by the next boat show up in KC in three weeks. So a couple of questions....
1)Is this normal market conditions even in the off-season. He already took off $35k off and I have not even started to negoatiate. I don't doubt his word and I would guess they could sell them soon. So I ask you experts, sales slow, normal or what you been hearing. I suspect its not that unusual to discount that much as they await 06 MY boats. 2)I'm not in that big a hurry b/c my place isn't ready or my slip, if I happen wait until later when my place has been built could I expect to get that type of discount on a 06 model or will the demand be as such that I won't get close to that type of deal if I wait until May or June. I think I know the answer but I submit to the experts. |
Re: The boat market........?
I seriously doubt they will sell 5 330's in the next 3 weeks at LOTO. He'd probably be lucky to sell one. LOTO is pretty much a ghost town in the off season. I'm guessing you're talking about Glencove.
Probably won't get that much discount on 06. More than likely you will still be able to find a new 05 there or at another dealer. |
Re: The boat market........?
He is full of crap. Just trying to get you to buy. If they are that easy to sell he would not be giving you a discount right off the bat.

Re: The boat market........?
nor would he have 5 05's left

Re: The boat market........?
5 leftovers of the same model is NOT a nice place to be in as a dealer. You always wind up with a couple leftovers, but that's a little heavy.

Re: The boat market........?
I also agree, the K.C and St. Louis show he might sell 2 the 330 is an awesome popular boat, but until March first is pretty slow but a good time to buy and negotiate a better deal. I would wait, you can also pick up your hoist in the off season, alot of good deals out there right now, good luck with your boat, neat looking boat. wiggler

he may move all of them w/ good dicounts Currently they are at $211,000 list and taking off $34k/$177,000 just for a start. I would prefer a boat w/496mags which the afore mentioned boat is, but this dealer sells and orders mostly 350's. Claims thats all thats needed on LOTO and the price difference is not worth it in resale later. He is at $140k on a boat MSRP $188k (350s). |
Re: The boat market........?
1st it depends on your needs. It you are just looking for more average cruising then the 350's will get the job done. If you are looking for a little more go then buy the 33ss with the 496's. I think this boat will perform much better with the 496's and will be more efficent....i.e. can push the boat easier on plane with less effort then the 350's......longer engine life etc....

Re: The boat market........?
i have an 04 w/ 496 paid 169k... but got 10k in trade equity that wasnt really there plus some extras like free storage/slip for remainder of the season, bottom paint, free storage for my cig for the remain... etc
so it was like 155k w/ the post july 4 0% for 24 mo all option except gen 8k, windlass 3k, and vacuflush great boat handles the rough well and good speed great party platform and very comfortable |
Re: The boat market........?
If he brings them to Jersey they will move right away, and nobody will know where.

The Formula Financing special they have going on until March 31st. Has it been you experience they only do this during the fall/winter months. Currently doing 2.55 x 24 w/6.99 thereafter. Thanks again for everyones imput. |
Re: The boat market........?
A friend and I went to St Louis boat show last Feb to look at a 37PC for him. This was not his first boat from Glen Cove. They claimed they were offering him a price which would not last past the boat show. A couple days ago down at the lake they called him to offer it again, over 10 months later. The exact same boat.
I have nothing against Glen Cove, but their best deal, like other dealers, is rarely their best deal. |
