Take them both for a ride. Buy which one you like. Although in this Industry, I have to say SUNSATION has "Outstanding Customer Service"

Which 32 Sunsation? The SS or the Dominator? The SS has a slightly better ride than the Dominator, and a bit deeper cabin. You will have to go for a ride in a Sunsation. I have been in several, and they are nice. The SS is a deeper freeboard boat, like the Sonic, and will probably ride better than the Dominator due to weight.

That is a really tough call. If I was building a boat from scratch right now, it would be a SINGLE 32 Sunsation with 900HP and a VI drive. I have a good friend with a single 750HP (Whippled 500 EFI/B1 Drive) 32 Sunsation Dominator, and the boat simply rocks.

The SS hands down. Not only heavier/deeper than it's older brother which is also pound for pound tough to beat, it's a little faster with same power than it's predecessor. Most striking though is the deeper freeboard/headroom with full enclosed head.

Either Sunsation model has a longer and well laid out cabin with ample storage and a comfortably sized V-berth to actually sleep two people on. Plus you can easily sleep an adult on the port bench and even put one on the floor in a sleeping bag if needed. Sonic has the better head room than the older style Dominator, but not so on the SS.

Now here ya go with having to choose between what strikes you personally better in the aesthetics category, and what trade-offs you're willing to accept to satisfy your particular boating world/habits. If you're buying new, get the best of both worlds and go with the Dominator SS. If shopping used you've got some tough choices to make. As said above, you're gonna have to take a couple of rides and envision how the boat will fit your needs as well as the ride and comfort aspects anticipated/expected from the new boat. There's a lot of comfort boats out there that ride like crap, and vice-versa.....Good luck and welcome to the trials & tribulations of shopping for the next one.

I'm partial, only because I own a 32' Sunsation. Other than a shortage of open space in the cockpit, I have no complaints with the Dominator. Handles well, rides well ( for the weight ). I really like the throttle response with the 500hp's.
Fit and finish is very good. I have had very good response from the folks at the factory. Just my .02 worth!

I agree with Reckless, kind of depends on if you are looking new or used. The new Dominator SS is an outstanding boat. I ran in one this summer with 496HOs, 5 people, full gas, and we ran near mid 80s.

Deeper boat, larger cabin. It would be my choice if going new. The SS just came out last year, although I think the one I rode in may be for sale. from Frank Schwenk. Joe at the factory would know if it is still for sale.

If you are looking for older, and want the bigger cabin headroom, I would think the Sonic would fit your needs better since the old dominators are not as roomy in the cabin.

Factory support from Sunsation is a huge plus.

You can't beat the Support from Sunsation. The guys are great. I have my Cruiser up for sale and I'll be buying another Sunsation hands down.
