30 Superboat stolen
 

A friend of mine who works in my shop on the side is a Suffolk county cop here on Long Island.He was working New Years day and discovered a stripped 30 Superboat in his sector.It was attached to an F350 Ford that had been stolen from a different location.It had the 2 outboards robbed off the back and was left in a bad neighborhood.He said it was the type of thing you wouldnt see parked on the side of the road in this particular neighborhood :chimp: The owner of the boat was contacted and didnt even know that it was stolen from him.He was sick!!!The truck was already reported stolen so then they inquired about the boat.This sh1t is getting insane!! :( :(

There are some crazy people on Long Island. I mean who's ever heard of "home invasions". And then stuff like this. I mean where the hell do you go, how do you drive around an overpopulated island with a stolen 30 foot F'n boat??? Its crazy!!!

There are a couple GPS trackers for boat.. I have links, will look for em....

Down here Bass Pro Shop in Lauderdale is THE place to go to steal a truck to use for boat thefts. Two have been tracked down as being stolen from there and used in thefts. One was recovered with a boat in tow THREE months after it was reported stolen....

would be a great idea, onstar would be better, with onstar if it moves it can be tracked, lojack is turned on only after it is reported...the beauty of onstar is if someone steals a car/carjack, the ignition can be disabled and the car cut off...lojack is only a positioning sensor.:(

Trackable alarm system - silent or not. Self powered, hidden in the hull, motion sensor that detects movement (not just wind gust). Once it's triggered it sends a GPS signal that can be tracked. I'd prefer the silent type to catch the sorry MFer's stealin the boat. Something similiar to my EPIRB on my boat set by getting doused in the drink.

Now - Who has the $$ and technology to bring it!!!!

they have GPS units that let you disable the truck by remote if you own a lot of trucks they will report if your crew is speeding in them also you can fence the thing in certain boundary's so they can't be used as personal transportation!

if the thing is moved it will let you know..Pllus the ability to track in on a computer.

Andy Buzz can hook you up with almost a marine version of OnStar.

GPS locator that e-mails you, beeps you and allows you to track it on the web based on the parameters you input. If you set it to go off if the boat is moved more than 25 feet (for example) you know about it pronto.

Whole system should run under $600 and then your monthly tracking costs.

There is a new system called Guidepoint, that goes way beyond lo-jack, that has e-mail capabilities. good for fleet use and also marine. Call Brian at Parkway car stereo 667- 5100

We have a unit called GuidePoint. The customer can track the device from the web. If you want to try it out go to www.guidepointsystems.com. My user name is gpny & password is gpny. This will show the location of my truck.
You can set what is called a geofence. This will notify you if the device moves more than 5oo feet of where it was set. It will also give a history of locations for the last 90 days. A couple thugs killed a woman in Texas and stole her car the police learned of the Onstar system and they then located the car at a tollbooth grabbed both dirt-bags on the spot!

Plus the one in my new truck has like a 3 watt output and the insurance company liked it my rates are cheap!
