Dockage on Lake Erie
I am looking for dockage space in my area, and I find that everyone I call blows me a rate higher than anyone else in thier marina is paying.
Are these costs negotiable?
What are people paying for dockage on Lake Erie? Particularily in the Cleveland and east area?
Who's got connections that can get a young couple a good rate? Come on guys, I have 4 kids, and I pay way too much for my house, I need a discount

What type of atmosphere do you want? Have you looked into anything on the private side of Mentor Lagoons? How far east of Cleve.? We used to dock our 29' Regal at Riverbend Marina in Fairport Harbor for around 1600 a season May through October.

Fairport Harbor is farther east than I want to be. I have considered Mentor a couple of times, but still farther east than I want. I really want to be in Cleveland, but maybe Faiport Harbor is a better idea. Cleveland is where I have always enjoyed boating the most... but it's still too expensive for me at this time. $2500 sounds like a good price, but that's about $415 /mo. WOW!!! Think about it, that's more than my boat payment.
Decisions, decision. Money, money.

I didn't want to think of it that way!! The payment is only a small beginning of this hobby
There's a few Yacht clubs on the Chagrin River in Eastlake if you haven't checked there yet. Sima Marine there also. A few...Chagrin River YC, Lake County YC, Chagrin Lagoons YC, West Channel YC, South Shore Marine, East Bank Marina.
Fairport Harbor: Grand River Marine, Grand River YC, Fairport Harbor YC, Riverbend Marina, Western Reserve YC, plus a few small places I can't remember right now.

Try the state park at 55th street ,,, best price and close to every thing ,,, inside the breakwall ,, no matter how rough it is ,, you can stll go boating !! Good Luck,,,, at your age ,, just buy something right now ,, you will have the same cost per year and will have equity 10yrs from now ..
