Twins in a small boat are a pain to service anything. Even something as basic as a compression test becomes a big ordeal.

Buddy of mine had a 29 with twins. Had problems with shifter and throtte cables due to lack of radius for them. Also he gave up on trying to maintenance them due to not being a CONTORTIONIST!! :eek:

I heard there real tight on the 29 .We had one here the locall shop put Prochargers on it .It was fast but they said it didnt handle to well around 95.He steped up to the 35 that same year.

Clay is there anything out there a little bigger than 29 with twins thats in your price range ??

MY 8.8 isn't too bad to service. No problems with the cables either, that sounds like poor rigging.

The Scarabs are pigs, not sure why. The Fountain will serve you well and should hold a higher resale value.

The Fountain sits real low in the stern. Looks cool as ever on the dock and idling. Just don't leave it on a bouy overnight where the water can kick up and you'll be fine.

Plus, I would take an NA motor over blowers any day. Much less maintanance and generally longer engine life. Puffers a cool to have if you know what your doing but for most folks they're just a pain.

I can't go bigger. 29-feet is gonna be my limit due to trailering weight and dry stack options.

There are lots of very nice 29-foot boats under $40K right now. I just need to see (and maybe drive) them all and buy the one I like best.

BTW... I order my new truck today. 2006 Chevy Silverado with the Vortec Max (345hp) package and the LT3 (top-of-the-line) trim. It is extended cab, 6 1/2 foot bed, solid white, 4x4, has tan leather heated seats, XM radio, and can tow 10,000 pounds.

2006 is gonna be a good year! :cool:

Clay take your time .It took me a 6 months to decide what I wanted and 6 months to find one like new condition.

Also a twin boat will be easer on drives than a single blower boat .I use to have a Blown Single Scarab
