Clay, I would go with the twin rig. The blower invites many more potential problems. I have a twin with blowers and like them, but I spared no expense for building them and I know how they have been driven. I would be hesitant to buy a used boat with a blower. I would never say never, but it would make me a little nervous. Think of cruising like you'll most likely be doing most of the time. The twin motors will be able to move you with less rpm and less strain. Think of resale, the stock motors will be an easier sale. Both are good lookers, my vote is for the twins!

Sounds like fun. The Austin boat show starts this Thursday. I plan to go down there Thursday afternoon and do some "slip shopping". Later, I will head to the Riverside Hooters for dinner. :D

PM me with your mobile number.

Here you go Clay.
Redo the interior put your choice of paint on it and still be under 30k.

Very interesting...

I wonder what their "bottom dollar" would be? $10K?

Update - I tried to "Email Seller" and it returned an error...

Clay. I voted Fountain. Fountain is not my first choice of all boats but the Fountain has the twins. More reliablitly. Scarab built a GREAT boat but w/a single engine you're limited. The down size to the Fountain is you really do loose a couple of inches w/it. Niether one is stepped I assume being from the early 90's. As long as they are both in equally good shape you should be good to go.

However I liked 375's answer the best....BUY A CIG!! :drink:

In that size of a boat I personally would not go with twins.
Just remember how stern heavy that boat will be and think about the increas in fuel and maintenance .
I own a twin engine boat and mine is real easy to service because of the large engine compartment.
Also will you want to UPGRADE these engines ( everyone does ) it will cost you twice as much.
I don't think I would buy the boat with the supercharger on it ( I didin't buy a boat because of this reason )( friend of mine did and it turned out to be a piece of crap )Stick with the single engine boat in that size and you will be much happier.
I love having twins but my boat is 36' by todays standards.
