31 sonic vs 35 fountain ?

So the Sonic has no swim platform?
As far as getting used to left handed throttles.....
Just how long did it take you to get used to driving your boat from the right side?
Driving a boat takes 2 hands; 1 on the wheel, 1 on the throttles. A large majority of people are right handed. Makes only sense to have the dominate hand steering.

Look at the number of Fountains for sale in the
classified. Look at the one that needs some repairs.
In my opinion the Sonic is a much stronger
and better boat in rough water.

I would buy the Fountain. Like ya said wish it was deeper.I dont think I could get use to the left hand gas .
Like a car I steer witht the left hand .And shifting with the right hand & hitting the nos button, playing with the radio, holding a beer etc
I would think the Sonic would handle the ruff pretty good???Sonic Insurance might be cheaper?

Store it in the water? If so the Sonic is a better choice. Many fountains have sunk as their air intakes and exhaust are soooo close to the water. A few big wakes, or trapped under a dock on a rising tide, and glug glug.
Drive in snotty water a lot? The Sonic would also be a better choice, the pad on the fountain is going to knock your teeth fillings out.
Drive on flat water? Fountain is going to be faster and you don't care about the hard ride, since there are not many waves around.

I say buy whatever YOU want to spend your money on. Check them both out carefully and what suits your needs and wallet best.
I'd personally take the sonic. You loose top end speed that's it but gain everything else.

look at the 32 active thunder fast as the fountain, cabin as big as the sonic and awsome looks. and handles the rough as good as any. deeper freeboard than both, and it is a true 32' long. this one is mine it runs 86 to 90 on gps w/ 500 hps.
