While I am here....

Calling on all Vintage Offshore Boats to be put on display for ShoreDreamsForKids.org this coming Saturday July 15th.
This once a year event is huge for these Special Olympic kids.

So who can make it to Seaside Heights, NJ this weekend???

If you need to get a visual on what it is all about:
Click here for a quick VIDEO of Pics from last year.

Sharkey....Barcone is Barry Cohen's company that now does restorations on the old boats. He is the owner of Ghost Rider.

It was in a Barcone race boat that a great legacy of offshore began, a young man by the name of Rocky Aoki raced in his first offshore race.

Barcone also produced some boats in Florida...the company was managed at that time by a man named Bill Sirois... of Bahamas 500 fame and later Popeyes fame.

Barcone is a well known name in offshore racing from the earliest days. Barry Cohen himself, won the sports class in the Bahamas 500 in a 35 foot Magnum.

I strongly encourage any members of HORBA, Historic Offshore Race Boat Association, that can possibly make this event, please do so.

There isn't anything more important than giving back in some way and this is a great way to do it.

Thanks Sharkey for all your efforts with this program.

Michele, I found these two photo's from an old book I have kicking about. Do you have any colour photo's of your dad's boat?? It was very unique I thought.
