SurfaceDriven,
My first Fountain was the 12 Meter version of the Executioner 5th boat out of the mold. Miami Boat Show Boat for 1985. I bought it used in late 85 early 86... I don't recall exactly the date. Traded it for my 1987 with Arnesons. Yours must have been built at the same time as the first 12 Meter in 86.
I am not sure if any of these boats were rigged at the factory or in Dennis's shop. I am fairly certain Dennis purchased the hulls with interiors and no rigging. Maybe someone else knows. I know I bought a pair of Arnesons in a crate which were supposed to be rigged on the custom boat that never materialized for me... So I know that Dennis was buying the parts directly, so now I do wonder if they were factory installed or not. That is a question for Dennis or Reggie.
I do know the ASD8 Dropbox's were painted to match the factory graphics and upholstery.

Greg, thanks for the information on the hull work. I might put these drives on a 42 some day and until now had no idea where to start. It looks like the pad on my boat was ground 3 times,as if they cut it and run it, and repeated the process until they liked the result. I don’t know many people that have the knowledge or the balls to take a grinder to their hull ,and expect a specific result. More of a race boat science. But one I need to learn . Thanks for the compliments guys. I made the windshield extension with lexan and aluminum.

What a great thread. I love hearing and seeing old school stuff. True innovators of there time. I have been searching for a clean old metric boat for almost two years.
If I had either one of your guys boats I would be buried in it.
Keep the stories and pics coming.
