to switch from a bravo to a konrad (tranny, gimble, drive, fiberglass work) would cost near 50grand once it was over....we only spent 25 for the boat without engines in the firstplace......

how much ya gonna have in endlessly replacing bravos?

i agree that the Konrads would be a good way to go if you could swing the $$$. i hate to say this but what is the point of building big power if you cant use it? with stock Brovos you will never be able to lay 'em open with out the spectre of doom hang'in over your head. good luck though

exactly, its just that althought the konrad is a great drive(and if we had trs we would probably get konrads), but considering the boat is set up for bravos, and we already bought three brand new transom assemblies at the beginning of the resto, we feel there are other options for this application that would make more sense.

You will probably fry the old Bravos pretty quick but, boating on Cumberland with smooth water I bet stock Bravos will last pretty well without alot of ski boat starts...IF you can keep the idle down in the 800 range

Bravos, properly assembled with XR and Imco components by someone like Dick Trice (Mr Gadgets) will work in an application like this. However the drives will have a short life span like 50-100 hrs between complete rebuilds. They will also be prone to breakage. Better get an extra drive for those occasions. Stock Bravos will probably break the first time you floor it.
