Post Boat speeds & "newspeed"

Well, just for fun, I thought I'd ask a boat speed question.

What kind of speed are you getting out of your boat now? (GPS or speedo, don't care if it's exact)

And, if you're doing mods this winter, where do you hope to be?

Also, in your NEXT boat that you buy, what speed will you be wanting in that? (this is the "newspeed" part, I knew I'd get you "veterans" with that subject line

Personally, I'm at 78-ish (I think I've been 81, but no GPS on board that day but my speedo is dead on at 78 mph, so....LOL!)and the next boat I'd like to be 85-90. I'm not doing any mods on current boat, just saving my pennies for a new boat, or travis's college fund

That's pretty impresive, 82MPH in a 24' boat with 320 HP. I Read the article in Powerboat Magazine about your boats. Have you guys tried a Bravo III drive on one of your boats, does it work better with the counter rotating props? I wonder how it would run with a Blackhawk drive.

I was concidering one of these boats 3 years ago before I bought my factory 1 boat. I don't understand why more people aren't racing them. A canopied race boat for the price of a factory 1 boat. Good luck this year.

Currently a best of 88 on my 454 mag, whippled 25' Daytona.

Bought a Merc labbed 28 from "Badcat", on the shelf. Bought an XZ with Imco 2" shorty from "Sterndrivespec"- its on its way UPS. Hopefully in March I'll be seeing low 90's, anything more is icing on the cake. I won't be shocked if I kiss 95 with March water and air temps.

Dreaming of new speed- a 28'DaytonaLP, whippled, otherwise stock 6.2's and it'll be 100-110. Reality check says i'm keeping my 25 for a while given its speed per dollar and it's more than enough for the lakes I boat in.

PS- no other mods to the 25 after this- do not want PII syndrome.

Please never put up "NEWSPEED" I hate that crack head.

As for Speed, 27 Fountain, 500efi, 75 Radar, 78 speedo.

Next boat, 35 or 38 Fountain, or Sonic Not for a while.

Current boat runs 80.1 on GPS , I would like
to add an extention box and shorter lower unit to possibly get to 84-85

My next boat would probably be a 28 Active Thunder w/box and a BIG naturally aspirated motor. running around 90-95 should do it.

My dream boat would be a 47' Apache with triple "whatever it would take" to run 120+

genarally 81-82 gps with 1/4 tank and I've seen 83.7 with real low fuel on a cool day. It's amazing to me when I have a full tank of gas and 8 people It only gets 74 now with my 30 p props where it would do straaight up 80 with full gas and poeple with the 28's on it. No mods planned, just in the "thinking about how cool it would be" stage.
