intercom system
I am going to buy an intercom system and would like to get some feedback from anyone who has a system currently, what brand, how well it works, how long they have had it installed, any installation problems etc...
David Clark, Tiger, Revolution or some other which is the best one??? |
Re: intercom system
I use comp com and LOVE IT, so far it has been the clearest of the ones I've tried and the volume is good, I also suggest getting them to install the mic and headset in a closed face helmet, distortion free, voice activated, sweet system

Re: intercom system
I have Dave Clark's in the plane. However, everybody who has tried the new Bose lightweight head sets is over the top about them.
Same gear as you would use on your boat. |
Re: intercom system
I bought the Revolution from Trick Marine. I got the set with the throat mikes, they work great!!! You talk as you would normally but your going 75 mph and you here perfectly clear!!!
Trick also has the best price. I highly recomend the Revolution |
Re: intercom system
Anyone have any idea on a ballpark price for a system with 4 headsets?

Re: intercom system

Re: intercom system
I have an aviation set from Gulf coast aviation.....love it.

Re: intercom system
We tried several systems in our race boat and they were junk!
Then we had a local guy build us a custom system and it has worked GREAT for 3 years now. If you are interested let me know and I will get you a number so you guys can build your own system. |
Re: intercom system
If you talk to Fred he might come down a little more.

I use a portable intercom from sigtronics that is a 6 place and DRE head sets. No question that DC is the best but I have had no problems with my set up.
I use suction cups to hold it all in place and can take it out (which I did) when I traded boats. Can hook the stereo and even a cell phone into it and it's voice activated. Can plug it in if I need to but 99% of the time we run it off it's 9v batteries. I have larger foam muffs on the mikes and get very little wind noise but throat mikes would be the best. We love it and I wouldn't do a poker run without it. |
Re: intercom system
BTW I think most of the boat systems are based off of aircraft systems. A Sigtronics 6 place system for an aircraft is $252 plus the head sets which start about $99 for a decent one and go up from there.
Once they get in the hands of marine dealers the price goes up....who'd a thought. |

I have one from Revolution Marine and love the throat mics.

I have a 6 place radio labs and it works well. I have both throat mics and headset booms... fussed with both and the headset boom with the large foam wind sock is the best. The throat mics are good but fussy..you mst get then in the "sweet spot"
The headset along with the Gladiator style PWC goggles make the faster rides a blast for the kids and passengers!! |
