You would be wiser to stay in Key West and have a good time.

Check the NOAA weather service. There is a small craft advisory over the next several days. Winds 15 - 20 knots with 4 - 6 ft seas. Then dropping to 15K and 3-5 ft in a day or so. Also no fuel out there. About 70 miles each way. Good luck and be careful whatever you do.

Ya, he might want to arrange fuel from a shrimper or something, I doubt he has the fuel to go to D.T.s and back.

I saw a super yacht out there with three shrimpers around it. Might have been fuel, but I did not see any hosers, err hoses. I doubt it was Molson's being transfered either. <gg>

If he can arrange for fuel transfer in the D.T.s (I doubt the park service would like that), before he goes he should tell seaplanes of KeyWest what he is doing as they fly out there daily, and he should also tell the ferry service that runs out there daily. In fact, a great idea is to simply follow the ferry and stay in radio contact with it.

The best idea of all is to leave his boat in Key West and take the ferry or float plane out to the D.T.s!

Me too!!!

I think one of the boats he is with is a 45 Sonic, they should just get on that and go for it in a day so. (15K and 3-5 ft Seas)

We're all pulling for you. You guys drove along way to make this happen.

I was just going to search for this thread when I came upon it. I was just thinking about you and wondering how you were making out. I hope during your vacation the water calms down so you get the chance to enjoy some good boating.

Keep us posted and take lots of pictures.
