$3600 retail per set.
I can't hardly imagine $2400 to install??

even at 500 to 1000 for install, it wouldn't be worth it to me just for a few mph and a different sound..

if you want to supercharge your 496 - do not use stock pistons

the perfect 496 supercharged engine should use at least
forged pistons, forged crankshaft, allow heads and a special supercharger cam

find them all here

Nice cut away view. I removed mine last spring, a bit more punch and a little throatier sounding too...

Is that you Ray using a different screen name?

The spot at the base of the riser that is flared to fit around turbulator, does that cause any flow restrictions?

PS....Just what is the purpose of those 'turbolators' ??
I figured...

I did remove all that other stuff though...

Turbulator from my understanding traps and keeps condensation from re-entering the manifold.

Harper is right... Merc labels it as a turbulator in their drawings.... very easy to remove. I took mine out and it did allow me to pick up 200 rpm. Which now when WOT I will hit the limiter, when before I was just under it....

As far as real numbers for the CMI set up...... Every once in a while Boating magazine puts out their "Speedboat" issue..... the latest one I just got has an article entitled.... "Heads, You Win". They take a 22' Scarab with a 2005 496HO and install the CMI's on it. Stock set up had a best of 71.2 MPH. They installed the CMI's and saw 74.3MPH. 3.1 MPH pick up. Test driver said you could feel the boat had a little more grunt during acceleration as well.

As far as the install, it look very easy. I would definately not pair for labor to get it done, and try it myself....... hope this helps.
