I love the boating in the Atlantic from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami but thats about all I like there. Much more laid back on the West Coast.

How is the water compared to Destin????

Rob,
I've only been to Destin once and not on a boat just to the beach and the Gulf looked as flat as a lake that week. I'm sure it's not like that all the time but thats the same with the Gulf around here, can be real flat or 6 footers but it's mostly like 2-3 ft

In Destin/FortWalton Beach we don't run on the outside just the IC. I was wondering if the water is as clear or if its a lot clearer farther south? Its also real touristy there.

Most of Tampa Bay is as dark as the northern Atlantic but I agree with Johno.

Why not outside..Destin cut either way to Pensecola or east to Pajama City or even to Apalachicola.
And if you head south far enough from Ft Myers you'll bge in Key West or make a turn slightly left and have all the Keys.
West Coast of Florida is as much fun as the East except farther to the Bahamas..I forgot ..you can run across the state through Lake Okeechobee and be in the Ft, Pierce/Stuart area then north or south to some wonderful areas.

Its always pretty ruff on the outside girls dont like it . Figured in that area theres no were to go out there? I am not familiar with anything south of there. When I am not familiar with the water navigating I usually go pretty slow till I learn it . so going very far from destin would take a while?????

I like hanging out more than just running all day. Like this crab island.
