Re: looking for a new boat......
I know you're talking longer than 31, but a Cig 31 Bullet is actually longer than your 31 Formula, since your has the molded in swim platform. Will almost guarantee a better ride than yours and most boats that are even longer. A friend with a 35 Formula swears mine rides better than his. Anyway, nice cabin working head, Vberth, 502s, new interior, paint,...on and on. Just bougth a TG so my baby has to go. Pics on website.

Wife has decided the 31 formula isn't big enough. Problem is I have just about finished getting it setup like I want it. Her main requirements are a big cabin that handles rough water well. I, of course, want something with reasonable speed. Luckily she insists it be a performance boat, but what? 35-38 ft, 1997-2001, 100K budget.
So far we have ben thinking:
Sonic 38: big cabin, great ride, non-stepped/ slower.
Formula 38: we LOVE ours, but the cabin seems too small, stepped hull = reasonable speed for me.
Active Thunder 37: great all around fit for us, show me one within budget.
Powerquest 38: Like the looks, cabin, and stepped hull but how does it ride in the Chesapeake bay? Any FORMER owners that can vouch for the build quality?
What other boats should I look at?
Thanks for the input guys.
PS: boat and trailer have to fit in a 42 ft garage......

I don't believe that anyone can beat Velocity for the hull design. More speed for the HP, corners like it's on rails and because of the reduced drag you can don't have to stop at the gas pump as frequently. In general, the best of all worlds.
Good luck in your quest!!
