WInter boating
The weather out here in socal is so unpredictable, it can really ruin a planned day of boating in the winter. Yesterday we decided to launch the boat and head over to Catalina and spend the day in Avalon. We had expected the weather to be in the mid to high 60's, with a little fog and possibly even some wind to cool things down to the low 60's.
Once we got to the breakwater in Newport Harbor we realized that we were in for a brutal socal weather day. The temp was about 85 degrees, no fog, and no wind. On top of that, the water was almost completely flat. Since we were expecting colder temps, we we dressed in jeans and long sleeve T-shirts. We were not prepared with shorts and short sleeve shirts and I got a bit of a sunburn on my face. Also, since the water was so smooth, we arrived in Avalon earlier than expected and had to wait about 15 minutes before we could order lunch at the restaurants.
These socal winters can be tough..

It was the first time out for me this year.. We saw Lyall at the Island and ran into a few other people at the Dunes while flushing the boat.. Perfect day yesterday..
