Back in the day there were plenty of multi outboard raceboats.Still are !. 500 efi's are nowhere near as reliable as outboards sorry !!

can anyone answer me, say this boat for instance if it had quad 300s(1200hp) or twin 600bbs and bravo xrs for instance, which would reach a faster top speed if both being set up, dialed in etc? also i like on my check where i can flush it just by raising the jackplate and trimmin it out will these o/bs raise high enough to do that? thanks

Id say the inboards ..they produce a lot more torque.. Yes out boards are easier to maintain/ flush ..another reason for there reliability

i forgot i'm arguing with someone that owns a offshore boat with outboards. yea they are more reliable, but the 500efi or 525 are almost as reliable. how do you like that word ALMOST.

Ive had Inboards and outboards ... I spend far more time running my outboards at high rpm wondering if they will ever blow up. Than I ever did with big blocks. Oh ya you dont have to climb around in the bilge when they do need attention.. That big hole where your IOs would normally be is all storage. Nothing through the hull that can potentialy sink the boat in a hurry if you strike a log etc ..The list goes on .. If your sick of workin on it and just wanna run it ..GET some eggbeaters
