each system has pros and cons, and one if obviously better for each person depending our their particular situation, thats why they make both i/os and outboards. some may be faster, some may be more reliable, some may be cheaper, some may be more efficient....the list goes on, so this thread is about a new sick 39sutphen wit o/bs so lets just have what style of boat we want and look at the perty pictures

I had my first full season with NO motor issues ever last summer, it was also my first season with 300x's.
The speedmasters on the bottom need some work but I think I have that fixed too.
Oh yes, the boat runs over 100mph....basically ALL DAY

If you look at the alternative driveline options to provide 80+ mph your looking at a pair of 6's with 650's. The drives are good for what, 300+ hours before you go into them. Upper ends every 250-300 hrs and exhaust every 3-4 yrs. The out boards are easy on gear cases, uppers cheap to go thru, no exhaust....No bling, bling but pretty cost effective. Heck. when I get to be in the 70's you wouldn't have to ask me twice to take that ride

Nothing through the hull that can potentialy sink the boat in a hurry if you strike a log etc ..The list goes on .. If your sick of workin on it and just wanna run it ..GET some eggbeaters
Awesome boat by the way

Tripple outboards sound bad azz I can only imagine what 4 would sound like. To bad no offshore style midsections.
If you take a outboard and push the sticks to the wood and do the same for any IO the IO is not going to last all that long vs the outboard that will run basically forever as long as you keep it oiled and gased.
My only question is why not go with nose cones and low water pick ups so that you can get the motors up higher and less drag?

In this particular setup the Torquemaster lowers are more efficient than a surfacing sportmaster style gearcase or nosecone. Sportmaster style gearcases are generally for rigs that are running well over 80mph. Same goes for the Bravo One versus Speedmasters. Mercury High Performance Division assisted with the setup and prop selection for this quad Sutphen and Richie Sr is still testing.
