Need A Little Help With Amp Choice
I am running 4 Polk DB 6500 Component Speakers with 100W RMS and 300W Max. Adding 2 10 Kicker Comp Subs 4 Ohms each under rear bench With 300W max and 150W RMS. I am running the 4 component's off a Kicker amp Model KX 350.4 60 RMS @ 4 Ohms. What kind of amp do you think I should use for the Subs and Should I change to a larger amp for the 4 Component speakers? Thank you in advance of the help.

Well the answer to this is determined by how you listen to your stereo. If you like it cranked alot, it changes the answer. Also what kind of budget if any do we have in mind.
Rule of thumb is to get an amplifer that is 1.5 times the RMS power of the speaker. Reason for this is it keeps you from over driving the amplifer trying to get more volume, and allows for musical spikes. A small amplifier is worse for the speakers if you over drive it. Pushing distortion from an under powered amplifier will kill a speaker much faster than using an amplifier that is to much power.
So if you like it cranked you should get a 4 channel 150 watt RMS @ 4 ohms amplifer for your Component Speakers. For your subs you should get a 2 channel 200 - 250 watts RMS @ 4 ohm amp, or a 450 - 500 watt RMS @ 2 ohm bridgeble 2 channel amp or single channel amp.
Lots of good amp makers out there.
