At my age, I could give a crap what people think my boats look like. As long as they meet our needs, rat's arse comes to mind....

My biggest issue with running biminis deployed or folded back has been side to side movement wanting to rip the mounts out of the windshield frame or deck depending how they are mounted. Some manufactures use straps to go from the rear poles to the back of the bimini frame and others use short sections of tubing to stabilize the top in rough water. Years ago, my first run at LOTO with a bimini-equipped boat i ripped the mount right out of the windshield frame. So I came up with this small brace and never had an issue again. I installed a quick release at the base and have a clip on the upright pole so I can still easily lay the top down when I cover the boat up on the lift.

K,
All our bimini's are stainless steel, all poles, no straps, and the mounts are all "Ball/socket" type mounts, kinda like this:

What he said.

Two steps forward.....Got it home finally. Besides needing a taller barn, I'm pleased...and so is my Bride.
Now, looking for hinges, breakaways, pylon and likely have the Canvas redone. A little welding and polishing, and we will have shade.

Still needs to go aft a bit, and a height reduction, but y'all get the idea:
