Default Npba Hall Of Fame

NEW….NEW….NEW….
As I was reading a recent magazine article which made many referrals to the National Powerboat Association (NPBA) and its races from the 70’s and 80’s, I feel compelled to recognize the many drivers, throttlemen, and navigators who got their start in or competed on that circuit….before we changed to producing poker runs. Some of you “new” powerboat enthusiasts will now be able to “connect the dots” with some of the names and teams of yesterday and how prominent some have become in the sport/industry of today. Billy Frenz

The Inaugural Ceremony to Award Inductees into The NATIONAL POWERBOAT ASSOCIATION’s HALL OF FAME “Offshore Powerboat Racing Champions” will take place at The NEW YORK CITY POWERBOAT POKER RUN on Friday Night, June 13, 2008. Charlie McCarthy and Rich Luhrs will each make Power-Point presentations on the history of our sport!

Have your dad tell you the story about how he ordered the very first one....sight unseen...... from a scale model at the NY boat show. He took a risk and it paid off BIG time. In a strange way that's kind of the story of his life.

I don't think I have heard that story, but I have heard a few about how the Flight Cat and Pantera guys tried to sell him a boat...those stories are priceless.

Default ...leading in votes...

..and who do you think is leading in votes for the NPBA Hall of Fame?
It has been very active...considering a few of the recipients have not been notified yet, this seems to be a popular topic...classic race boats and the teams that ran them...very cool stories too.
Keep 'em comin'!

Default More candidates comin'

Keep throwin' those old racer's at me...I could not think of them all at the first sitting.
I'll go dig out the old yearbooks.
It'll be quite a gathering/party if they all show up on Friday the 13th of June!
Hmmmmmmmmmmm...the stories that will be told...better wear hi-boots.
