Default New Merc 700's and drive packages

I read a post last week about the new 700's and drive package and how they won't be available for over a year. I was with David Woods from Pier 57 today down in Islamarada. He had a 39" MTI with the new package in it. The boat is running 130 MPH. He said he has several of these packages being delivered the first of June. He said they are a great package and the 1 year warranty makes it even better. I personally wasn't crazy about the color of the motor but what do I know? Anyone interested in getting one of these packages may want to call David at Pier 57.
I just purchased my MTI from him and David and all the other people at Pier 57 are great!! They are super people to work with!!!

The one year delivery thing was weird to hear. At the show, I heard June delivery in the booth...

They sure did run well in that MTI!!!! Although the color wouldn't be my choice, the orange didn't look too shabby!

Im not a Merc fan, but thought the drive and motor package was cool. Color, I didnt have a problem with, just very curious on the performance end and what will the drive really handle. Jeff

Keep in mind that they did have a color chart in their booth in Miami, with 7 or so colors to choose from.

Yes.... I saw the 700 PKG at the Miami show......it was very impressive....I like the fact you can service the new ACE drive externally without pulling the motors. After speaking with the MERCURY rep I was certain they did their homework on this package to stay ahead of the pack.

$166,000 for the pair with drives.
I have a set of Imcos rated at 900 hp for $28,000 for sale. My engine builder can build a 750 hp engine N/A for under $15,000 each. I could save $100,000. I guess the Mercury badge is worth a lot of money.
