Fuel Prices and Boating

What do people think the increasing price of fuel is going to do to the Marine industry, Nothing or Kill It? Some people won't care, Just some friendly feedback please. Thanx

Re: Fuel Prices and Boating

People that can afford big dollar boats will always buy then regardless. If someone isn't buying an O/L due to fuel prices, then they couldn't afford to buy it in the first place.

I can tell you the average working man isn't buying as many larger boats. My mother works in sales at a trailer company and it isn't as busy as it was 2 years ago. they are selling trailers for up to say 18-24 boats more then ever before. Cheap run abouts/bayliners.

First time buyers have NO CLUE what it's going to be like filling up the tanks :D

just look at the threads from last year most were saying if gas goes over 3.50 a gal they would cut back. many cut back at 3.00

When I get a chance to go out I could care less about the gas prices! I spend $1500 a month on fuel for my 4 work trucks and another 5-600 month on the boat when I am using it regularly. If it jumped $1 a gallon I would not hesistate to go out for the afternoon. Can't put a price on a good time!

considerin we burned a true 350 gallons in about 5hours of break in running about 2500rpms (no higher at any time than 3000) with triple 640hp bbc, were curious to see what the prochargers(8lb=960hp) and running higher revs will do to the mileage  :drink:
