The swim platform was incorporated into the hull for an additonal 2 ft as well. Joe and Wayne are both perfectionists which is why that boat has taken like 2 years to build. The first one should be in the water in the next couple of months with another 4-5 by the end of the calendar year. If they were just trying to pump out a bigger boat without much concern for quality they would have had it done 18 months ago.

Sunsation bought a bare hull and the designs of the boat but the actual mold for the 38 went to Midnight Express which is why their 38 PP is just like the original 38 but with outboards.

I think Sunsation will be as successful with this F4 as they have been with their 25, 288 and 32's.
Actually the boat that is in the classifieds was one of the only two 38 Powerplays that was built with an extended engine compartment so it could be set up as a staggered boat with #6's. I know because I owned that boat for a short period of time.

I know I was there the day the 38 mold began to be built

I know I was there the day the plug ran in Biscayne Bay

I know I had 3 33' Powerplays

I know I ran the 38' Plug and Completed Boat with Danny

I know I was at the Powerplay Auction

I know I purchased the 38' Mold at the Auction but never left the Auction with it.

I know that Powerplay is gone

I know that when I moved offices recently I dropped Danny's Scarface desk that broke in a million pieces.

I know I still have two Powerplay signs that several people said they were going to come pick up and never did.

I know I have Danny's little sign that used to be in his office that said "Why buy a Cigarette when you can smoke one for Less"

I know nothing that is worth remembering now!

Wow, OSO Steve either your the new Big Scotty or you were right in the thick of things!

Where does the resale market sit with the used 38's? Beav has Fox Force 5 listed for 260ish, Fastboats.com has a new 04/ 06 for 259k, and the white hull with big power is 355K.

What are these boats really worth? Being that the future production of the 38 with inboards may be very limited and only 10-11 boats currently in existence what is real money on a used 38 with good but not crazy power?

Dude, you are smoking crack!! Ther is no doubt that Cigarette makes a great boat, but unless you have ever crawled inside or seriously looked at a Powerplay, you are so far from the truth.
I'm not saying that PP's are better than Cigs, just that they make as good a boat as Cigarette. Powerplays were extremely well-built custom boats. Just ask any surveyor that has surveyed a PP. I have heard many times that when a PP comes into a paint booth that they are perfect.
