I keep hearing closer in towards the fans and inshore racing. A 7ft wave is a 7 ft wave closer to shore or farther out. Sometimes you get smooth water sometimes you don't.

you're right lighter doesnt mean weaker, but a certain amount of weight is needed. If I remeber correctly Craig Barrie made a super light 38 or 42 that bounced all over, wouldnt cut through the waves. a winning combo is exactly that a combo.

I, for one, could care less about what Fountain's accomplishments are. Especially in a thread titled Cigarette Vs. Apache.

This is all a good debate and that's what is great about this site. But I strongly suggest, if you ever have the opportunity, to go out on an Apache or a straight bottomed large cigarette in big water so you can actually exprerience the difference. I have, there is a ride quality difference I can assure you of that.

Yup same here ..personaly sick of fountains , there everywhere, havnt changed in what 25 years ..mass produced = boring ..and the dash layout is a joke , cant see half the gauges and a one foot square area for a stereo remote .. Drove one last summer and could not get used to the controls being vertical and set up for a dukey.
Isnt there a fountain thread somewhere :rolleyes:

Saber has the apache 41 mold so i would guess it is just as good in the rough as any cig or apache.

I believe the saber may be a bit straighter than an apache
