Dean one of my business partners owns a Boat dealership, he currently sells stingray and loves the value it gives customer and dealer, Had checkmate but they are as a company getting stagnent, his current mid performance brand is Baja and thinks they are great and what I see they are, side note his high line performance is Eliminator cats. He also has Chapparell and likes them, just dropped Rinker over a price increase dispute, Rinker upped dealer cost by 20k on a boat already ordered and in production, Rinker gets to keep it and no more orders

Baja....You can start in the 20' range & keep moving up into the 40' range.
Priced right & a Dealer with great service could have a life long multible boat customer

There is already a baja dealership in the area, so that wouldn't work out, There is also a stingray dealership in the area.Checkmate makes a great small boat for beginning boaters all the way up to the 33 ZT for the more advanced boater. Their boat line has evrything from family to performance, and soon to have a deck boat line. Can't go wrong there...

Stingray, no doubt. I have a 220SX (for sale cough...cough..) I GPS'd this boat at 63 with a full load of fuel and 2 people the other day. I can kick the wheel over at nearly top speed with the drive tucked and all I got to say is hang on, the boat is safe. I have out run Baja OL 20's, 23's, H2X and a non HO 25 with it. All of this for the low 30's for price. While a 23 OL is burning a lot of gas to hit 60 with a 496MAG, this boat get these speeds with a 350 mag and will get 5 mpg at cruise (40 mph) There only drawback is rough water ride. They can get a little bouncy in heavy chop so they are by no means an offshore boat. No one that I know of has bought there 230SX with the HO yet. But the thing goes 75 and stickers at just under 50. Even though there might be a Stingray dealer in the area, they might be buttheads. They have a forum as well and the "uppers" check it all the time. They will scold a dealer if they're being bad. That's how a friend of mine got her dealership, the Stingray dealer in the area was pissing people off, so now she's it. Good luck to your friend's quest. I can't say enough good things about them especially the factory support and "open ears". But for me personally, owning 2 boats just isn't in the cards and that's the only reason I have to give this thing up.
