When will you be on the water?

For those of us in the colder climates, when do you think you'll be on the water? I think we were on the water April 17th last year. It was damn cold, but worth it.

When I use to live in MN we tried to make it out on the second or third weekend in april. You are right it was cold! But we didn't care.

They were 16.5 x 33's @6100rpm's. Those engines are gone. I fired up the new mills yesterday and will be prop testing this weekend.

Just re-read your post. I do still have those props.

I'm pretty sure Champlain never froze over...if it did, it wasn't for long. I see the breakwater just about every day, and they only looked frozen for like a week

What's there to do besides fire them up and get the antifreeze out of the water systems?

That gives me an idea for a poll.

Most things open up April 15 in the area. I am usually ready by then. But because of the weather it usually winds up near the beginning of May. Check the weather the beginning and slit the shinkwrap :evilb: :evilb:

I was just wondering what percentage of people don't do this stuff thereselves. I'll start a poll. I've gotten spoiled the last three+ years by being able to keep my boats inside.

Yep, but I do them myself. No tune ups this spring...the engines just went in a month ago! :drink: With the weather that we will be getting this weekend, you should be very busy soon!!!

Come on.....only thing I've got planned is to check fluids, etc during the day and run some of the old gas out. Boat has a new bottom, props, and drives repaired. Can't wait to hear her run without the silent thunder box too!

Jan 8th, Jan 12th, March 1st so far this year. 496's make it easy to get out on the water during the offseason when you get that occasional warm day.
