Ran the test several times and the results were the same every time. Hard to beat the torque of the 275 for everyday use.

Mercury Racing's 250XS is closer to 275HP than it is to 250HP...from a competent source. It weighs about the same as a normal Opti (depending on midsection) and is about as economical (not to mention the upgraded gearcases). In fact, it will typically be more fuel efficient than a Verado and 250XS will run on 87 octane
