My Brother-In-Law is running one on his Ultimate Warlock. It is Heavy Duty!!!!! He blew two XR's and hasn't had one bit of trouble since replacing the B-Max!

Does anyone know the diff. in height and width from a bravo to a bmax ?It looks like a bmax won't fit under my swim platform and will hit my platform brackets on both drives.I want the bmax, cause Strip has them. :D

The new HT 's are guaranteed to 950HP and TQ ,He claims he has never had a upper failure. He also offers a extended warranty also, cheap.I have had real good luck with them at 250 hours and I am trading in my old BMax's for the new HT's with the crescent lowers. They are a direct bravo bolt up replacement. I am waiting on the next batch being made first of May. I know of 3 sets he has sold of just the people I have talked to.OSO Panther just bought a set and he's getting his Tuesday.

What ya want to know about them ? PM me your phone # is ya want?

Rob

Imco 22"
Bmax Ours 19"

Square inches of running surface:
Imco 143 square inches per side
Ours 123 square inches per side

B-Max has 40 square inches less running surface total.

How do the B-Max compare to Konrads? Also what is the cost on each? I'm running approx 850hp on a 36' cat and have xr's beefed up by max machine but broke a prop shaft end of last year and replaced upper drives which were pitted. Don't want to spend money for #6's but want reliabilty.
Thanks

The b-maxes sound good, just remember unless you get the newest ones out there they still use XR lower gears and beefed up xr style vert shafts/prop shafts which will break just as easy as the max worx stuff,Smitty

I know a guy who had them on a 37 talon cat and he blew up 6 in one season with only 575's. The next year he converted to 6's. It seems like 6's or Arnesons are the only way to go on cats. I would try the Konrads first though.

Remember to break them in easy.... :drink:
How did you mount the reservoir bottles?
Prop them so you spin them high enough to get way past your max TQ.
Good luck with them.

Six B-maxes or Max worx? Was it uppers or lowers? I'd love to hear the details if you have them of what broke, thanks,Smitty

Re: anyone running b max drives ?

the talon cats appear to be heavy not sure the weight but appears they need surface drives or #6s. im putting a pair on a 31 warlock cat now.

I couldn't fire up the other motor because I put the drive on that side and it has no oil, I didn't get my Amsoil shipment yet. Otherwise I would have fired it up! ;)

The neighbors were really cool about it. Actually the neighborhood is great! One of the guys walked over to check it out. He said; "So, I guess you don't use that for fishing?" :drink:

Good luck with them.

I mounted the bottles on the 1/4 bulkheads on each side of the motors as high as I could get them. They also gave me some aluminum mounting brackets to use. It only took me 15 - 20 minutes to mount.

Those bottles are huge though!

I guess I need to break them in for 4-5 hrs Dean said. Kind of a pain in the a$$ though when you're trying to test props.. I'll just have to be patient I guess.

4 - 5 hours is like a season of river running for you.

Hope you have better luck with these drives and just maybe your wife will let you come out and play with us :D

Yeah, The warranty info mentioned a 5 hr break-in period and oil change. Which reminds me... I need to send the warranty registration back once I get the boat in the water.

Just ordered my b-maxes last wednesday. Hope to see them around the first of may. Strip said they are the way to go. Broke two xr's w/ imco internals in three weeks at the end of last season. I haven't had the boat long enough to justify the breaks. Probably my driving :D

That's what I was thinking.. So what do you do Idle around for two hours?

I got the second drive on tonight and took measurements to have the tie-bar shortened. I ran over to the welder this evening and dropped it off, I should have it back in a day or two.

If all goes well Saturday may be the day!
