Here's a pic of the new Konrad Ace system. It's a variation of the proven Konrad 540 drive.

What's the diff between a Konrad ACE and Merc Racing ACE as featured in the latest Powerboat mag???
Same difference?

Re: Konrad ace = # 3?????

Konrad has an auto trans (BAM 1350)with gears and shafts in the case and Merc's is a manual type trans with is a dry sump. The Merc is also a dry sump gear case.
The Konrad can be had NOW!
Mercs can be had soon with the 700sci but may be never without the engine so Merc says at this time.

If Mercury ever makes the new their new Ace drive avaiiable less a motor attached I would suspect the biggest difference will be the !! PRICE !!. The difference here could be substantial. Unless people are interested in ordering their new boat with or buying a new 700SC/Ace combo from Mercury, forget about this new drive. You guys are just waisting oxygen and busy jaw flapping!. Lets talk about something that is now and can really happen!

Two totally different designs. By the way, the Ace name will remain in the Konrad line up. I've heard Mercury has something in the works.

The oil capacity and oil change intervals are amazing. Tell the military to take better care of their gear, we the tax payers don't want to pay for any failures due to negelect. :evilb:

I know someones who has Konrads on a Cig 38' flatdeck and he has nothing but good things to say about them.

Looks like Mercury was Ace'd out on this one. I just returned from the Mercury Media Xcursion.
It's now called the NXT-1 drive.

I've been thinking again, God thats a dangerous thought! I think Mercury should follow in a long line of great drive names, first there was Alpha, then Bravo, the next logical step is TANGO!! Makes perfect sense to me!

Thats a sweet looking setup...If they came with a -2 lower I would be very interested.
Direct Bravo replacment / Warranty / Input rating?

I doubt they will ever build a driect Bravo replacement. Their Bravo kit has an extension box to allow room for the transmission. The extension is built similar to the Merc ITS system.
For further info go to www.konradmarine.com .

you can't argue with that!!! Are Konrads heavier? Are they faster or slower?

From what I have been told the Konrad's are approx 200lbs more then a Bravo. I think they have a 2" shorty case also.

We've had the Konrads on our old Fountain for a year now and haven't had any problems. They are a great drive, I just can't say enough about them.
